Swansea beat Barnsley 2-0 in Wales last month and are fancied to again come out on top in a quick Championship rematch at Oakwell.

The Tykes are having a solid campaign but do tend to come up short against the better teams in this division, even when playing on home turf.

We’re happy to take 33/20 for second-placed City to prevail for our first Barnsley vs Swansea prediction.

A Look At Barnsley’s Betting Odds

Barnsley enjoyed a 2-0 FA Cup win over Tranmere here last weekend, with centre-back Michal Helik grabbing his fourth goal of the season and Cauley Woodrow striking from the spot.

Manager Valerien Ismael said: “I thought we controlled the second half and defended well.

“There was some good box defending and we pressed and forced the mistake at the end to finish the job.”

In the league, the Tykes are nicely placed in the top 10 after winning six of their last nine matches.

However, the three defeats during that time were against promotion favourites Bournemouth, Swansea and Norwich.

Reading, Middlesbrough and Brentford are other well-placed sides to have proven too strong for Barnsley.

Ismael’s side only scored in one of those losses, so 31/10 for an away win to nil takes the eye from the Barnsley vs Swansea odds.

A Look At Swansea City’s Betting Odds

Swansea also advanced in the cup, with Wayne Routledge and Viktor Gyokeres on target at Stevenage.

Steve Cooper commented: “We changed the team, we appreciated it would not be a free-flowing performance, but to win 2-0 away from home is a positive.”

City’s Championship form has been impressive, with just two points dropped in their last four games following a 2-1 win over Watford to start the year.

Summer signing Jamal Lowe bagged both goals in that come-from-behind victory to make it six in as many games over the festive period.

The hard-working Andre Ayew is also doing well up front and everything seems to be in place for a sustained promotion push.

Most of City’s away fixtures have been tight tussles, though, with 11 games producing 20 goals.

With that in mind, 4/1 for the Welsh outfit to win and under 2.5 goals is added to our Barnsley vs Swansea betting tips.
