Manchester United beat Burnley 2-0 in the Premier League at Turf Moor a month ago and are fancied to confirm that superiority at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have suffered mixed fortunes since then, but a 4-0 win over Norwich in their last top-flight fixture at this venue augurs well.
We like 11/10 for a home win to nil as our initial Man Utd vs Burnley prediction.
A Look At Manchester United’s Betting Odds
United slipped to a 2-0 loss away to arch-rivals Liverpool on Sunday, which left them 30 points adrift of the runaway leaders.
However, in between Virgil van Dijk’s early header and Mohamed Salah’s last-gasp breakaway goal, the Red Devils did show some spirit.
Nemanja Matic told MUTV: “I think they played better in the first half and the first five to 10 minutes of the second half, but after that we had control of the game.
“We felt we were in the game, we could score, we could create. I think we played some good football in the last 35-40 minutes.
“We were the better side but it is hard if you don’t score goals against these kind of teams.”
Marcus Rashford’s back injury is a big blow, but Anthony Martial has been in decent form this term and a rejuvenated Juan Mata is capable of creating chances.
Looking at the Man Utd vs Burnley odds, we reckon 21/10 for the hosts to win both halves is fair value, as that bet would have paid off in their last two league matches at Old Trafford.
Last Man Utd line-up: De Gea, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Wan-Bissaka, Williams, Pereira, Fred, James, Matic, Martial.
A Look At Burnley’s Betting Odds
Burnley upset the odds when coming from behind to beat high-flying Leicester 2-1 at home, with Chris Wood and Ashley Westwood netting after the break.
Nick Pope’s penalty save from Jamie Vardy midway through the second half also proved pivotal in a much-needed victory, following four straight league losses.
“We’ve not had a bad season,” said Pope. “We’ve got 27 points, so it was just a bad run that we’ve come out of.
“We can’t stop here, it’s one game, so it’s great to get three points and feel like we’re back on it and stop the rot, as it was, but now we’ve got to take that into Wednesday.
“There are no givens in the Premier League, so we’ve got to really take that and use it in a positive manner.”
However, Leicester dominated what was a poor first period at Turf Moor and only Pope’s heroics kept the deficit at 1-0.
We’re hoping he does not put in another man-of-the-match display here, so 11/10 for a home win and over 2.5 goals is added to our Man Utd vs Burnley betting tips, along with 33/4 for 3-0.
Last Burnley line-up: Pope, Taylor, Tarkowski, Mee, Bardsley, Cork, McNeil, Hendrick, Westwood, Wood, Rodriguez.
