Chile remain on course to complete a hat-trick of Copa America triumphs and are fancied to edge out Peru in the semi-finals.

La Roja lost 3-0 to Los Incas in an October friendly in Miami but have dominated recent head-to-head meetings in competitive contests.

The holders prevailed at this stage in the 2015 tournament and won both World Cup qualifiers between these teams on the road to Russia 2018.

Punters can get 9/10 for Reinaldo Rueda’s side to oblige in normal time and that is our first Chile vs Peru prediction.

A Look At Chile’s Betting Odds

Chile kicked off their Group C campaign with a 4-0 drubbing of Japan and a 2-1 victory over Ecuador, with Alexis Sanchez netting in both matches.

La Roja were then undone by a late goal from Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani but bounced back by beating Colombia on penalties in the quarter-finals.

The defending champions were twice denied a breakthrough in normal time when Charles Aranguiz and Arturo Vidal had goals disallowed either side of the break following VAR reviews.

However, Manchester United winger Sanchez made the difference in the shoot-out, scoring the decisive penalty after defender William Tesillo missed Colombia’s fifth attempt.

After suffering a torrid time at Old Trafford, Sanchez has clearly got his mojo back during this tournament and 4/1 he scores first here stands out from the Chile vs Peru odds.

A Look At Peru’s Betting Odds

Peru’s enthusiastic supporters did not get much to cheer about at last summer’s World Cup but a good run in Brazil has provided some compensation.

Los Incas began their Group A campaign by drawing 0-0 with Venezuela and beating Bolivia 3-1, before a 5-0 thrashing from the hosts left them to advance as one of the best third-placed teams.

Ricardo Gareca’s side were underdogs to get past Uruguay at the last-eight stage, but rode their luck in a goalless stalemate and then sneaked through on penalties.

Uruguay were left frustrated by marginal offside decisions in Salvador which saw goals from Giorgian De Arrascaeta, Cavani and Luis Suarez all ruled out, while several other chances went begging.

Peru offered little during the 90 minutes, and some seven of stoppage time, but goalkeeper Pedro Gallese stopped the opening spot-kick from Suarez before his team-mates all confidently dispatched theirs to secure a 5-4 victory.

Los Incas will again be tough to break down, especially on a poor pitch in Porto Alegre, but the fact they have drawn a blank up front three times in four games could finally catch up with them.

Let’s finish off our Chile vs Peru betting tips by taking 9/2 for the holders to win 1-0.
