Women’s World Cup hosts Germany face their first real test of the competition when they meet France at the Stadion im Borussia-Park in Moenchengladbach tomorrow.

Both sides are undefeated in Group A, having secured successive wins against Nigeria and Canada but will be looking to top the group with a third win of the tournament.

Despite both boasting a great run of form of late it is Germany who are viewed as favourites for the match.

bwin prices the hosts at 57/100 to secure a third straight win, while les Blues offer odds of 9/2 to cause an upset and the draw is available at 14/5.

Regardless of who emerges victorious, the game promises to be a thrilling, high scoring contest, with boast sides boasting prolific scoring records in recent games.

France have scored 15 goals in their last five games and conceded just two, securing four wins and one draw in that time.

As impressive as that record is, it is bettered by Germany, with Die Nationalelf rattling off five wins in succession, scoring 16 goals and shipping just one in the other direction.

Once you factor in home advantage, it is easy to see why the more sensible money is being placed on Silvia Nied’s side.

That said, Bruno Bini has the talent at his disposal to cause an upset with Gaetane Thiney among the tournament’s top scorers with a return of two goals from two games.

Elsewhere in the squad, Camille Abily boasts 20 goals from 77 appearances and Marie-Laurie Delie has scored 22 goals in her 23-match international career.

However, one thing that Nied has that her opposite number does not is a vastly experienced campaigner. Germany captain Birgit Prinz has over 200 international caps lays claim to 128 goals during her spell at the top.

With such prolific talents set to battle it out in the final group game, those looking to put football bets on the Women’s World Cup could be tempted to back a high number of goals.

Betting on the match producing more than four goals is priced at 9/4, while going one better and placing a wager on five or more offers odds of 11/2.

Punters could also be attracted to the 4/1 odds on both sides scoring in the first half, while some of the smarter money could be placed on an actual scoreline prediction.

Opting for a 4-3 win for Germany is priced at 100/1, offing returns of £2,525 for new customers using a bwin’s free £25 bet – while a 3-2 victory for the hosts is priced at 30/1.
