USA are seen as clear favourites in the betting for their second Women’s World Cup game, with bwin offering odds of 2/25 on a win for the Yanks.

Last time out, Pia Sandhage’s side secured a comfortable 2-0 win over North Korea and victory over Colombia will almost guarantee them a safe passage to the next round of the tournament.

Conversely, Ricardo Rozo’s side will need a turn around in form, having gone down 1-0 to Sweden in their tournament opener.

The South Americans are seen as rank outsiders to win the match at 25/1, while the draw is available at 15/2.

USA will go into the match in high spirits after extending their impressive unbeaten run. The win against Korea, which came courtesy of goals from Lauren Cheney and Rachel Buehler, followed successive victories over Japan, Iceland and Finland.

Such a solid run of form could see new customers look to other markets in order to see maximum returns on their free £25 bet.

This could lead to lot of attention being paid to the handicap betting market, which sees USA priced at 17/50 for the win if Colombia start with a 1-0 lead.

A successful £25 bet on this result would see punters pick up £33.50. The same starting scoreline sees the draw priced at 7/2 and Colombia’s winning odds shorten to 6/1.

One of the key points of the game will be the form of USA striker Abby Wambach. The MagicJack forward has hit 118 goals in 158 internationals but has yet to get off the mark in this competition.

However, the 31-year-old will be keen to display her talents on the world stage and this could be bad news for the Colombia defence.

As such, a number of football betting enthusiasts could be tempted to back a high number of goals, with bwin offering odds of 3/1 on the game seeing exactly three converted attempts.

Odds of 4/1 are available on the match producing exactly four goals, while five or more is priced as a 333/100 shot.

That said, fans looking to place an outside bet with huge returns could be tempted to go for a shock 3-0 victory for Colombia, which at odds of 250/1 could provide a significant windfall to punters willing to take a risk.
