Runaway leaders Liverpool need only six more wins to clinch the Premier League title and can take another step by picking up all three points at Carrow Road.
Liverpool went into the winter break on the back of a 4-0 home win over Southampton while Norwich were left to rue missed chances in a goalless draw at Newcastle.
One thing which should be guaranteed is goals with the previous eight meetings featuring 42 of them, including 24 in the last four contests played in Norfolk.
With 14 of the Canaries’ last 17 home games seeing three or more goals and 11 of the Reds’ previous 16 on the road following suit, an away win and over 2.5 goals at 3/4 is our opening Norwich vs Liverpool prediction.
A Look At Norwich City’s Betting Odds
Manager Daniel Farke is refusing to give up on his “little miracle” after seeing Norwich miss out on a precious Premier League victory at St James’ Park.
The bottom-of-the-table Canaries dominated proceedings and made enough chances to have won the game comfortably, only for some wayward finishing by Teemu Pukki and the excellence of Magpies keeper Martin Dubravka to ensure they emerged with only a point.
Norwich are now seven points from safety with 13 games to go, but Farke is hopeful they can defy the odds and stay up if they continue to play with such vigour.
He said: “Although we are playing with such a young side and perhaps not the highest individual quality, we want to work on our little miracle and to surprise everyone and to stay in this league.
“We know it would be a little miracle, but we know it’s possible because we deliver such top-class performances.”
While Norwich’s displays have not been rewarded with the right results in recent months, their failure to build on a solid first half has not helped their cause.
Farke’s men have trailed at the break in just two of their last 10 games but have not won the second half in any of them, drawing four times and scoring only twice in the process.
Norwich have also conceded 10 of their last 12 league goals after the break and the leaders will be in no mood to be charitable in their quest to clinch their first league title since 1990.
Looking at the Norwich vs Liverpool odds, we like 11/10 for the visitors to score more of their goals in the second half.
Last Norwich line-up: Krul, Aarons, Zimmermann, Hanley, Byram, Tettey, McLean, Rupp, Duda, Cantwell, Pukki.
Norwich will have centre-back Ben Godfrey available again following a three-match suspension. Swiss centre-back Timm Klose continues his long-term recovery from a serious knee injury.
A Look At Liverpool’s Betting Odds
Jurgen Klopp admitted his Liverpool side are surprising even him after making it 100 points from the last 102 available.
However, the German insisted after the routine Anfield success over the Saints that his world and European champions are far from perfect.
The Saints battled hard through the first 45 minutes and created a number of chances but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain opened the scoring two minutes into the second half.
Liverpool then ran riot with Jordan Henderson doubling the lead before Mohamed Salah netted twice.
They now need only six more wins to guarantee a first domestic title since 1990 and Klopp said of Liverpool’s consistency: “I have never seen it.
“But it is not that I am feeling stronger and stronger and stronger after each win. It is just one celebration, sometimes more, sometimes less, then relief, settle and go again.”
Salah has returned to scoring form in the Premier League in 2020, netting five times in six games, including three in his last two appearances.
Nine of the Egypt international’s 14 league strikes have arrived in the second half and he has notched the final goal of the match on six occasions.
With that in mind, we are snapping up 5/2 for Salah to score the last goal to complete our Norwich vs Liverpool betting tips.
Last Liverpool EPL line-up: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Firmino, Salah.
Forward Sadio Mane and midfielder James Milner both return to Liverpool’s squad after injury. Midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri (calf) remains sidelined.
Newcastle 0-0 NORWICH
LIVERPOOL 4-0 Southampton – Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jordan Henderson, Mohamed Salah (2)
Head-to-head: Liverpool 4-1 Norwich, Norwich 4-5 Liverpool, Liverpool 1-1 Norwich
