Manchester United can make a statement of intent in the Premier League top-four race by getting the better of West Ham at Old Trafford.

The Hammers have been on a great run but do tend to come up short against elite-level teams, losing to Liverpool twice, Chelsea, Manchester City and the Red Devils this term.

With influential loan star Jesse Lingard unable to face his parent club, 4/5 for a home win is our first Man Utd vs West Ham prediction.

A Look At Manchester United’s Betting Odds

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side floundered a bit during a run of just two wins in eight league matches but made amends in fine style with a 2-0 derby triumph over neighbours City.

Bruno Fernandes put an early penalty past Ederson, Luke Shaw slotted in a cool finish and the Red Devils held firm at the back under sustained pressure.

“We had to be patient at times but we had to make sure we kept getting up to the ball, kept getting contact, kept making tackles,” said Harry Maguire. “I felt that we did that really well.

“For sure, we can improve, we can do better in parts of the game, but it’s an important win, an important performance. Now we have to dust ourselves down and go again.”

United have struggled at times this term when facing other teams who prefer to sit back and play on the break, but that may not apply here.

West Ham came to play when knocked out of the FA Cup at Old Trafford and led at half-time before going down 3-1 on home turf in the league in early December.

Looking at the Man Utd vs West Ham odds, we’re happy to take 12/5 for a home win and both teams to score.

Last Man Utd EPL line-up: Henderson, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Wan-Bissaka, Fred, Fernandes, James, McTominay, Martial, Rashford.

A Look At West Ham United’s Betting Odds

Eight wins in 11 league matches have put West Ham in contention to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Monday’s 2-0 triumph over Leeds kept them six points behind their next opponents and just two adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea, having played a game less than that pair.

Lingard put the Hammers in front versus the Whites when pouncing on the rebound after his penalty was saved, while another loan signing doubled the advantage when Craig Dawson headed in.

David Moyes said: “The biggest step is that the players are really disappointed with how they played against Leeds, so that shows you the standards we have set most of the season.

“But it’s a good sign that they are all on board with that and recognised it. We are in a good position and we are really pleased we are up challenging the top boys.”

The Hammers have a great blend of silk and steel this term, especially with Declan Rice looking more and more like a world-class star.

However, they will really miss the pace and movement of Lingard for this contest, plus we can’t ignore their blips in several big games already mentioned above.

Thursday’s tough Europa League draw with AC Milan makes things a bit more complicated for the hosts, but they should be used to such distractions by now.

Anthony Martial picked up a knock in that game, while Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford have injury issues.

So let’s finish off our Man Utd vs West Ham betting tips by taking 7/1 for Mason Greenwood to score first, as he netted at London Stadium three months ago.

Last West Ham line-up: Fabianski, Cresswell, Coufal, Dawson, Diop, Rice, Lingard, Fornals, Soucek, Benrahma, Antonio.
