Stadium: St James’ Park

Leicester registered an emphatic Premier League double over Newcastle last term, prevailing 5-0 and 3-0, so they are hard to oppose at St James’ Park.

The Foxes have consistently impressed on the road this season and should be the fresher outfit for this contest after resting players for their latest fixture.

We’re going with 11/10 for Jamie Vardy to score in an away win for our first Newcastle vs Leicester prediction.

A Look At Newcastle United’s Betting Odds

Newcastle have put in a couple of resilient defensive efforts to only lose 2-0 at Manchester City and then grind out a goalless draw with Liverpool on home turf.

The Magpies had goalkeeper Karl Darlow to thank for their point on Wednesday night, as he produced two stunning saves to repel Roberto Firmino headers.

Mohamed Salah uncharacteristically missed the target either side of half-time with only the keeper to beat, but Steve Bruce was still delighted with his team.

He said: “Of course, we need our goalkeeper to play well and we have to have a little bit of luck along the way, but the effort and the endeavour and the commitment they showed just shows you that it can get you a result.

“There were signs against Manchester City, which I was pleased about, and to go back-to-back against Manchester City and Liverpool in the manner we’ve done, I couldn’t be any more pleased.”

However, we just feel the energy put into those performances could take a toll here, especially as United will be under pressure to now come out more.

Only one team has conceded more late goals than Newcastle this term, while Leicester have the best strike rate in the final quarter of an hour.

That makes 2/1 for the Foxes to outscore their hosts between 75:01 minutes and full-time stand out from the Newcastle vs Leicester odds.

Last Newcastle line-up: Darlow, Clark, Schar, Fernandez, Yedlin, Longstaff, Ritchie, Hayden, Murphy, Joelinton, Wilson.

A Look At Leicester City’s Betting Odds

Brendan Rodgers will be hoping to reap the benefit of resting some key players for Monday’s 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace.

James Maddison was not even part of the squad at Selhurst Park, while star striker Vardy was only introduced as a 65th-minute substitute.

A starting XI featuring seven changes from City’s high-class 2-2 draw with Manchester United on Boxing Day still dominated the first half and should have led at the break, but Kelechi Iheanacho had a penalty saved.

Palace showed more intent after the interval and went ahead through Wilfried Zaha, but a fine strike from Harvey Barnes at least earned the Foxes a point.

Rodgers commented: “If we felt we could play all the same players all the time, we would have done, but I have to trust the players.

“The performance should have been enough to get the result and win. It didn’t and we accept that.”

With some big guns now ready to return, though, Leicester look well equipped to challenge for a seventh away win of the campaign.

We’re hoping this game will open up as it progresses, so 7/2 for Draw HT/Leicester FT is added to our Newcastle vs Leicester betting tips.

Last Leicester line-up: Schmeichel, Justin, Evans, Amartey, Thomas, Barnes, Choudhury, Mendy, Praet, Iheanacho, Perez.
