Arguably the match of the weekend in Europe is in the Bundesliga as the top two face off in a crunch clash which could go a long way to deciding the destiny of the title.

Bayern Munich go into the game with a four-point lead at the top of the table and victory would boost their hopes of retaining their crown.

Being without Robert Lewandowski is a major blow, though, and with a draw not much use to Leipzig, we’re backing a home win at 7/4 as our opening RB Leipzig vs Bayern Munich prediction.

A Look At RB Leipzig’s Betting Odds

Bayern may be top of the Bundesliga but Leipzig lead the way in the form table over the last eight matches after dropping just two points in that time.

They had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt in their previous home game but got back to winning ways with a 1-0 win at Arminia Bielefeld last time out.

Even when Leipzig have dropped points, they usually make a bright start and have opened the scoring in their last 11 league matches.

They also took a 19th-minute lead when these teams met in Munich in December but eventually had to settle for a point in a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Looking at the RB Leipzig vs Bayern Munich odds, we like 6/4 for Leipzig to score the opening goal in the first half.

A Look At Bayern Munich’s Betting Odds

Bayern were dealt a blow earlier this week when it was announced that Lewandowski’s knee injury is set to sideline the forward for around four weeks.

The Poland captain was ruled out of Wednesday’s World Cup qualifier with England due to the problem and he will also miss a number of key matches for his club.

Lewandowski could miss the majority of the next month and will almost certainly be absent for Bayern’s Champions League quarter-final with Paris St Germain, with ties due to be played on April 7 and April 13 respectively.

Given that he has scored 35 of Bayern’s 78 league goals this season, his absence leaves a major void in the team with former Stoke striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting now expected to lead the line.

Alphonso Davies and Jerome Boateng are also suspended so the timing of the fixture is in Leipzig’s favour.

Four of the last five meetings have been drawn so there is little to choose between the teams but we think Lewandowski’s absence makes Leipzig good value as the underdogs.

A very different game is expected than the one in December, though, with Bayern likely to make themselves hard to break down in the knowledge a draw would be a good outcome.

Under 2.5 goals had paid out in four successive Bundesliga meetings between these two until December so that looks great value at 29/20 for our final RB Leipzig vs Bayern Munich prediction.
