West Brom and Southampton go into Monday evening’s Premier League clash at The Hawthorns on the back of high-scoring victories.

Albion pulled of an amazing 5-2 upset at Chelsea last time out while Saints produced a fabulous fightback to beat Burnley 3-2 on home turf.

We’re hoping both teams bring their shooting boots again here as Evens for over 2.5 goals in the game is our first West Brom vs Southampton prediction.

A Look At West Bromwich Albion’s Betting Odds

West Brom still look set for a quick return to the Championship but that shouldn’t take anything away from their incredible triumph at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea took a 27th-minute lead but Thiago Silva’s red card soon after for a second booking turned the game on its head.

Matheus Pereira’s fine brace sparked Albion’s stunning west London rout, Callum Robinson bagged a double of his own and Mbaye Diagne also hit the net.

Sam Allardyce said: “It gives us hope that maybe we can reach this performance again, starting against Southampton. It keeps us going, it keeps us alive.

“We can’t complain about the quality of this performance, the outstanding performance of all the players. They demolished Chelsea with an undefeated team since the new manager arrived.

“People cannot say that Chelsea were under par and not that they went down to 10 men, they must say it was because of the quality of our performance. They were off form because we were so good.”

The Baggies are still eight points from safety, so the odds are huge on them pulling off a great escape.

However, they have lost just one of their last five home matches, beating Brighton here and drawing with Fulham, Manchester United and Newcastle.

Looking at the West Brom vs Southampton odds, we like 21/10 for another stalemate on this occasion.

Last West Brom line-up: Johnstone, Furlong, Bartley, Ajayi, Townsend, O’Shea, Phillips, Maitland-Niles, Yokuslu, Pereira, Diagne.

A Look At Southampton’s Betting Odds

Southampton are all but safe on 36 points in 13th place after recovering from being 2-0 behind inside half an hour to shade Burnley at St Mary’s.

Strikes from Stuart Armstrong, Danny Ings and Nathan Redmond did the damage as Saints followed up a 3-0 FA Cup win over Bournemouth in thrilling fashion.

Impressive Ings was involved in each of the goals on his return from a month-long injury absence and told the club website: “I think it’s the work on the training pitch.

“Us as players know that as a team other results haven’t been good enough, we wanted to put that right.

“We put the work in over the international break, quite a few lads were away with their countries but now we’re back together, back on the training pitch and working hard.”

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side topped the table earlier in the season but plummeted into the bottom half having won just once in 12 top-flight games prior to that success.

Being 10 points above the drop zone should allow Saints to play with freedom at The Hawthorns, though, and an open contest could be on the cards.

Let’s add 13/1 for a 2-2 stalemate to our West Brom vs Southampton betting tips.

Last Saints line-up: Forster, Walker-Peters, Bertrand, Vestergaard, Bednarek, Ward-Prowse, Redmond, Armstrong, Diallo, Ings, Walcott.

Additional stats

Last result:

Chelsea 2-5 WEST BROM – Matheus Pereira (2), Callum Robinson (2), Mbaye Diagne

SOUTHAMPTON 3-2 Burnley – Stuart Armstrong, Danny Ings, Nathan Redmond

Head-to-head: Southampton 2-0 West Brom, West Brom 1-2 Southampton, West Brom 2-3 Southampton, Southampton 1-0 West Brom
